Online Portals

My College Account, Moodle, and Hope Advise help you manage your classes and student information online.

STUDENT INFORMATION AND FERPA

The Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) guarantees protection of students’ educational records. All faculty and staff should be aware of these regulations and keep them in mind when accessing and using student information.

If a student has a confidentiality hold, absolutely no information may be given out or verified to anyone without the student's express permission.

PORTALS

Online resources for faculty and staff are listed in the accordions below. Each portal login is the same as your 1Hope login and you can access them through the Hope App. You should have received this information with your employee welcome packet.

Any student appearing on your class lists is registered for your class. If a student has told you they are going to drop or withdraw from your class, but they still appear on your class list, then they are still registered. When a student withdraws from your class, they still appear on class lists, but their status is listed as “Withdrawn.”

Department Assistants: departmental account login information is generally kept within the department (not given upon hire). Contact the Registrar’s Office if no one in your department has the login information.

COURSE MANAGEMENT

You can manage your courses in My College Account and in Moodle.

MY COLLEGE ACCOUNT

My College Account is accessible through the Hope App. You should use this to:

  • View your class lists and waitlists
  • Enter midterm and final grades
  • View your course assignments by term
  • Access unofficial transcripts and Degree Works for your advisees (more advisor resources below)

Department Office Managers can use their departmental account to view class and waitlists for the entire department.

MOODLE

Moodle is an optional assignment/class material management system. You can use it to give and receive assignments, post supplemental materials or the syllabus, post grades for assignments, and see photos and basic information about your students. Students in the class can only see their classmates' photos and names in Moodle, not others' grades or any other personal information.

Any assignments and grades you give outside of Moodle will not appear on Moodle unless you enter them in manually. Midterm and final grades must be submitted in My College Account, and therefore do not show up in Moodle unless you also enter them into Moodle.

ADVISING RESOURCES

My College Account has a few advising resources, however, Hope Advise has more in-depth information about your advisees, including:

  • General student information
  • Degree Works
  • Registered/waitlisted courses and midterm and final grades
  • Add advising notes
  • Send an advisee their registration PIN after you meet for pre-registration advising
