President Matt and Sarah Scogin invited students to join them outside their home on Monday, Dec. 2 for the Lighting of the Tree and Christmas carols. Followed by a walk to the Bultman Center to enjoy more music, treats and cookie decorating.
Matthew A. Scogin was inaugurated the 14th president on Friday, Sept. 13. The ceremony was among multiple events scheduled in a including a concert by New York-based Young Oceans, a showcase of the college’s four arts departments and the 54th annual Hope/Holland Community Day.
A sampling of cultural heritage from around the world will be featured during Hope College’s “IMAGES: A Reflection of Cultures” showcase on Saturday, Nov. 9.
The Even Year Class of 2022 won the 2019 Nykerk competition. One of Hope College's longest-running traditions, freshmen and sophomore women compete in three different arenas: song, play and oration. Junior and senior coaches arrange the music, write the plays and guide the orators as they craft seven-minute monologues.
