Hope Communication Professor is a Lawrence Wenner Emerging Scholar Award Winner
Patrick Gentile, Ph.D., assistant professor of Communication at Hope College, was named the winner of the 2025 Lawrence Wenner Emerging Scholar Award, given by the Communication & Sport Division of the National Communication Association (NCA).

A beloved American holiday story will come to life onstage in downtown Holland for a fourth Christmas season when Hope Repertory Theatre presents “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” on Wednesday through Saturday, Dec. 17-20 at the Knickerbocker Theatre.
Hope College Senior Recognized With Social Science Undergraduate Award
Hope College congratulates one of its senior sociology and environmental science students — Sebastian Lema — for receiving the Social Sciences Undergraduate Conference Award from the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR). Lema’s achievement highlights the value of student-faculty collaborative research experiences, which are distinctive at Hope College. Lema will present the research at the National CUR 2026 conference in Richmond, VA, next April.
